Facts:
Jimi disconnected after rounding the last mark, 22 minutes into the race.
There were about 2 minutes left to the finish line.
When he disconnected, he was in 6th place, 4 boats lengts and 11 seconds ahead of the boat in 7th.

Conclusion:
Jimi is entitled to redress according to MLS rule 3.5.1.d. With the large gap down to 7th, there is no doubt at all that Jimi would have have finished in 6th had he not disconnected. Of the other 14 boats in the race, only 1 managed to overtake another boat on the last leg, and this boat rounded the last mark on the stern of the boat ahead. Redress to be 6th place for Jimi. The boats scored 6th to 14th on the original scoring shall be moved one position down.

Note:
When applying MLS rule 3.5.1.d, the protest committee will in such cases never give the benefit of the doubt to a boat disconnecting. If a boat is rounding the last mark with a group of other boats, the redress would be a score behind that group. A boat shall never be able to deliberately disconnect and calculate a redress score that would give a beneficial result.
