4. Race (number):

5. Time (in Replay):

6. Rule(s) applicable:
11 / 16.1

7. Boat(s) involved:
Batboat and Fiducit

8. Description:
Fiducit is leeward to Batboat - both boats on starboard. Fiducit luffs up. Batboat reacts right away to every course change Fiducit makes, but in the end BatBoat is unable to luff up without contact between the boats. Fiducit breaks rule 16.1 since Fiducit is right-of-way boat and when he changes course (which he does several times), Fiducit shall give Batboat room to keep clear, which he does not do.

Facts:
Fiducit is overlapped 1 boat width to leeward of Batboat.
Fiducit luffs and Batboat responds by luffing to a course just above parallel, 1/5 boat width to windward.
Batboat bears away slightly to a parallel course and is 1/4 boat width to windward of Fiducit.
Fiducit luffs and there is contact between the boats.

Conclusion:
Batboat was given room to keep clear, by staying on a higher course than Fiducit or luffing more.
Boatboat broke rule 11 and shall be scored DSQ in the race.
