Facts

Blummig establishes the overlap from clear a stern, and very close to AK's stern. AK starts to react in order the keep clear, as soon as the overlap is established, both quickly and as much as AK can. Also had there been contact, it would be a RRS 15 to Blumming, since the overlap is established very very close and not giving AK much time and opportunity to keep clear.

Blumming protest not upheld, Blumming + 1 point.
AK - No Further Action.

1:21.00 Overlap created

1:21.70 - 1:26.48 Blummin allows time for AK Suited to luff and avoid

1:26.48 - 1:29.85 AK Suited stops luffing
1:28.04 - 1:29.85 Blummin stops luffing

1:29.85 - 1:31.51 AK luffs and Blummin avoids collision by bearing 2 degrees and then immediatey hails P in the chat

1:31.51 - 1:36.50 AK Suited stops luffing and maintains course

1:36.50
- AK Suited tacks away

The time in the replay that i asked to be reviewed in the forum protest was 1:30. That is 9 seconds after overlap was created so, to post this in the forum as a response:

"Blummig establishes the overlap from clear a stern, and very close to AK's stern. AK starts to react in order the keep clear, as soon as the overlap is established, both quickly and as much as AK can. Also had there been contact, it would be a RRS 15 to Blumming, since the overlap is established very very close and not giving AK much time and opportunity to keep clear"

displays that the committee was not looking at the correct time of protest in the replay. It takes AK Suited 15.50 seconds to luff and tack away. While under clear overlap, AK Suited luffs and stops and luffs and stops until a moment where he luffs creating a collision course. In this moment (1:30.34), being well after the RRS15 limit, it has to be either a 16.1 to Blummin or an 11 to AK Suited. Blummin gave almost 2 seconds for AK Suited between 1:28.04 - 1:29.85 to continue luffing and tack away but he chose to keep course. In these moments he breaks RRS11.

I am posting this to the PC because, respectfully, I disagree with what was posted on the forum under this protest and feel the PC has made a mistake in this case. I am appealing to the supreme courts of VSK.

This result heavily weighs on the tournament because Rebels are close to Genesis in the standings so I would really appreciate taking time to look at the appealed decision.

Kind Regards,

First of all the PC judge each case individually, and the PC do definitively not look at the results, when it judges cases.

Secondly, the rules of MLS states, that the PC's decisions are final, and there is no appeal possible. This can not be new to you, as you have signed for, that you have read the rules, when you signed up for the tournament.

Next with regards to the case, the PC still are convinced that the decision is correct. AK is trying to keep clear all the time, and you give him very very little room to do so. Therefore it takes some time, before AK is able to tack to keep clear. This is not match race, you creat the overlap so close, that it actually was boarder lining a RRS 15 to you.

Decisions are made on the majority, PC members may not always agree on every situation examined. But each member, honestly does try to give a fair decision to each case he has analysed.

Therefore, the decision stands, as the PC finds the decision is correct.
